REX ALLEN & 'KOKO' IN PERSON. Rex Allen, known as "The Arizona Cowboy" began his entertainment career on the WLS Barn Dance radio show in Chicago. In 1950, Republic Pictures signed him as a new singing cowboy star of a series of 19 B-Western movies in which Slim Pickens & Buddy Ebsen were his sidekicks. After the series ended in 1954, Allen had a long & successful career performing at some of the largest rodeos in the nation.
